What started with a BA design project in 2006 is now a successful Swiss start up venture.After the first prototype, a grant and two high profile awards, our start up is now based at TECHNOPARK® Aarau in Windisch, Switzerland. It’s where we benefit from a healthy mixture of other innovative start ups, an ideal centre for knowledge and technology transfer as well a quality address.

At SUN-D GmbH we’re dedicated to communication through natural light. When it comes down to architecture and scenography, we see ourselves as a counter pole to the ubiquity of electronic screens, monitors and LED panels. We are passionate about letting the flexible, the unexpected and the spontaneous of any space or location help and enhance image formation. A pure, non-electronic glow is always pleasing the human eye.

We don’t see daylight as problem to information display, we don’t need to go brighter and rival the sun for luminance: to us, sunlight isn’t the problem, it’s the potential, which strangely hasn’t been on the radar in the screen industry yet. We don’t want to re-invent the wheel, but sunlight is a free and abundant resource, which opens up revolutionarily novel aesthetics when integrated into image formation and screen layout. A sun-display is not just an information board, it’s the fusion of nature, design and information.
